Welcome to the 13th edition of the Heart and Soul Hoops' newsletter.

This is a free newsletter designed for past and present clients, their friends and relatives, colleagues and friends of Heart and Soul and special interest groups: really, anyone you know who may have an interest in basketball and Sydney sport.


Term 1 is here. Are you in shape? Are you enrolled in a top-tier program? Preparation is the key to success...

The Heart and Soul Hoops training + playing season is underway. With new programs like THE SCORING COLLEGE and THE SKILLS ACADEMY,players will learn new ways to elevate their gameplay and boost their confidence. We invite all players to test their skills in the upcoming Heart and Soul Hoops 3ON3 competition that kicks off on Wednesday February 26.

This month we are launching the HSH 3ON3 competition in Five Dock & in Wooloomooloo. For a limited time, all 3ON3 competition players will receive a FREE group training package. Sign up now and you can get a FREE  Blitz Clinics package + FREE Skills Academy package! Players can sign up as a TEAM (3-5 players) or as a  SOLO PLAYER and we'll place you onto a team. For SOLO PLAYERS, we recommend the Baller Pass Package that includes 20 games & 10 FREE training sessions.

We are excited to announce that the Melbourne Travel Team is a hit with Sydney families. We encourage players to express interest early so that we can enrol you in our Academy for FREE. If you are interested in joining the Melbourne Travel Team Tour, please attend our upcoming FREE TRYOUTS at Open Gym. We are hosting tryouts on Feb 9, Feb 10, Feb 12, and Feb 16. The Winner's Circle

Basketball and injuries go hand in hand…

The most important things to know about them are 1) how to best avoid them and 2) how to return to playing after they happen.

 

As a parent of a very high achieving basketball player, who has several injuries and comes back from them, I wish someone had given me the perspective I have now……

Always Be a Good Sport...

It's my first day at conditioning training. Coach sets the tone by ordering everyone to run a "suicide". A "Suicide" is a conditioning drill: you start at the baseline, run to the first free throw line, tap the line with your hand and run back to the baseline. Then run to the half court line. Tap and return to the baseline. Next run to the far free throw line. Tap and return to the baseline. Finally, run to the far baseline. Tap and return to the starting baseline. 

“Go!” Coach orders. We sprint a "suicide". “Go!”. Sprint. “Go!”. Sprint. “Go!”. Sprint. “Go!”. Sprint.

 “Coach...I need to go to the bathroom”...
